What is the normal size of the inner lips?

The labia minora should not exceed labia majora. It is considered normal that the inner lips are usually 2 cm in length.

 

Inner lips are different in length and thickness from woman to woman. Long inner lips, darker skin at the edge of the inner lips, protruding from the vulva, or having an asymmetrical size and structure of both lips may cause aesthetic concerns in women. Labiaplasty is performed under local anesthesia in our clinic. You will not feel any pain during surgery. The procedure takes about 90 minutes. During this period, the effect of local anesthesia is sufficient for the operation.

 

 

Why is the technique and device used in labiaplasty important?

 

The aesthetic result and recovery after labiaplasty is very dependent on the devices used as well as the technique. Dr. Ünal uses radiofrequency, which cause minimal damage to the tissue, for the labiaplasty. How much pain will you feel after aesthetic and functional labiaplasty?

What you should expect the next day after labiaplasty?

 

Edema and swelling are commonly seen after the labiaplasty surgery. Dr. Ünal will give you required medications and inform you about postop care to control the swelling. 

 

You may have itching, swollen inner lips in the first week. Swelling will decrease after the first week and will be resolved in 6 weeks. 

 

 

Is there any activity restriction after labiaplasty?

 

Staying at home for the first week after the labiaplasty and applying your dressing regularly are very important for the smooth healing of your wound. It is very important that you do not scratch the area where you had the surgery, for the stitches to heal. You can return to your work and social life seven days after the surgery. You should not have sex for 6 weeks after the surgery. Cycling is not allowed for 6 weeks after the labiaplasty.

What is a barbie labiaplasty?

Barbie labiaplasty term is used for commercial reasons to attract women and especially young girls. It means no inner lips and very small clitoral hood. 

 

Why we perform composite reduction labiaplasty?

 

Dr. Ünal performs labiaplasty surgeries using the composite reduction labiaplasty technique. The clitoral hood and inner lips would be repaired with harmonious in this operation. She advises against using the trimming approach or the wedge resection technique for labiaplasty. Because the frenillum is left at the trimming method, the clitoris will appear larger following the surgery, and the passage from the clitoral hood to the inner lips will not be perfect. This has a negative impact on the appearance. There is a possibility of dehiscence or scar development after wedge resection. The inner lips develop a hole as a result of this.

 

Is Labia Majora Reduction right for me?

I am using blood thinning medication, may I have labia majora reduction?

 

You need to stop blood thinning medications like aspirin, omega, ginger pills, giseng 2 weeks prior to labia majora reduction.

 

I would like to have fat transfer for the labia majora after the reduction, may I have it at the same session?

Yes. We may harvest fat from your belly or inner leg and transfer it to the labia majora after the labia majora reduction completed at the same surgery session.
